Why Social Media Matters in Offering Perks

Why Social Media Matters in Offering Perks

Let's all agree...employees perks are not expected, but when you have them you don't want to lose them.

SO WHY DO PERKS MATTER?

From an employee standpoint, the basics have to be there.  Healthcare, 401k, sicks days are all perks that are expected but rarely to employees "brag" about them.  To create a strategy for culture that includes special perks think of ideas that get a conversation going among your team.  More importantly create a conversation that extends beyond your team and to the employees friends, family and neighbors.

WHEN DONE RIGHT

It start with a sense of meaning and belonging.  Most will say that want money instead of perks but experiences have a long lasting impact.  Create experiences that tap into what people care about.  Wellness events, sustainability ideas, commitment to the community or a cause needs to be the jumping off point.  Give them experiences but also make it easy for them to share with their friends and families.  Support what you are doing with photography and video.

WHY SOCIAL MEDIA MATTERS IN THE PERK GAME

We would like to say it is only millennials that want to increase their social status by sharing amazing experiences at work.  But it has quickly expanded to people of all ages.  It feels good to know that your company care about you and the cause you care about.  It feels good to have a platform to share this with others and get positive feedback...LIKES.
